This pamphlet contains information about Alaska's schools and their students, teachers, and administration. In 1987-88, Alaska had 480 public and private schools in 32 city and borough school districts and 23 regional educational attendance areas; average daily attendance for public schools was 101,144. The pamphlet covers the following student information: (1) public school average daily membership annually since 1972-73; (2) number of high school graduates annually since 1975; (3) number of GED diplomas granted each year since 1976; (4) Scholastic Achievement Test and American College Test scores for Alaska and U.S. students; (5) numbers of exceptional, gifted/talented, migrant, and bilingual/bicultural students identified; and (6) high school senior ratings of their high school experience. Teacher information includes numbers of classroom teachers and other certified staff since 1972-73, average public school teachers' salaries, and pupil/teacher ratios. School and administration information includes; (1) audited public school revenues and expenditures; (2) pupil transportation costs; (3) student/computer ratios; (4) school food programs; and (5) area of school districts in square miles. The pamphlet also lists State Board of Education members, Alaska Commissioners of Education since 1917, Department of Education phone numbers, and public school district addresses, phone numbers, enrollments, and superintendents.
