Designed to aid the evaluation of the past academic year by summarizing and consolidating both college- and district-wide information, this annual report provides technical information on the Los Angeles Community College District for 1986-87 and 1987-88. The 1986-87 report begins with an overview of the district, followed by tables, figures, and accompanying narratives focusing on: (1) changing community demographics and attendance patterns; (2) enrollment trends, including the changes in the numbers and characteristics of the District's students since 1971; (3) program enrollments; (4) student retention rates, transfers to public four-year institutions in California, and degrees and certificates awarded; (5) services to special student groups (e.g., veterans, handicapped, and foreign students); (6) income sources for the District and expenditures by program and location; and (7) personnel distributions by ethnicity, sex, occupational category, and location. The 1987-88 section provides updated enrollment data for each college by sex, ethnicity, age, unit load, class level, time of attendance, and educational goal; information on summer session and telecourse enrollments; data on retention rates; and grade distributions by college.
