This paper, the last of seven, part of an interdisciplinary project on the context of reading and reading research that explores similarities and dissimilarities in the response to literature in readers from different cultures, supplies the "Folktale project" with readers' statements which can be used for the construction of a cross-cultural questionnaire. The paper explains that subjects were asked to read a story and comment on it in an interview. Ten readers (seven Danes and three Greenlanders) commented on the Danish version of the stories, and 11 readers (eight Americans, one Welshman, one Canadian, and one Australian) read the English version. The paper notes that the results from these interviews will be used for the construction of questionnaires on readers' responses to the three stories.
