Internationalizing the Business Program in Small Colleges under Conditions of Constrained Resources.
Morse, Kenneth O.
The successes and failures of a small private college in internationalizing its business curriculum are discussed. The college's condition of severely constrained resources is outlined, and the college's program development approach of sharing resources with other institutions is described. A consortium of local institutions was created to allocate available resources more efficiently. The program successes include additional staff, new courses and strengthened existing courses, and increased on- and off-campus publicity for the program. Failures include overtaxed available resources, small class sizes, and apathetic responses by both the academic and business communities. Ideas for obtaining funding and motivating potential resources to participate are also discussed. (MSE)
