Cherry, R. L.
Designed as a teacher's guide to accompany the revised edition of the classroom text "English Words from Latin and Greek Elements," this manual contains the following material that is not in the textbook: (1) answers to all exercises in the text; (2) the Latin and Greek origin of all prefixes, suffixes, combining forms, and bases that are used in the text; (3) several hundred additional example words using the prefixes, suffixes, combining forms, and bases presented in the text, together with the derivation of many of these; (4) examples of orthographic similarities that will help to avoid confusion with English words from different bases; (5) additional material, often in the form of exercises, that can be used for extra assignments; (6) occasional suggestions for presenting material; (7) recommendations for specialized books that could help broaden the scope of various lessons; and (8) extensive information throughout the manual on variances among current desk dictionaries.
