100 Winning Curriculum Ideas.
National School Boards Association, Alexandria, VA.
The editors of "The American School Board Journal" and "The Executive Educator" magazines recently invited school leaders from across North America to send in curriculum ideas that work. From among the 1,026 entries that were submitted, a panel of judges selected 100, which are published in this special report. Criteria for selection included (1) evidence of success in measurable instructional outcomes within a specified budget; (2) evidence that the program could be used elsewhere in a comparable subject area or grade level; and (3) evidence that the program is relevant to the most pressing curricular and instructional needs of schools throughout North America. Entries are included for the following curricular areas: language arts, science/technology, math/computers, social studies, music/arts, health, citizenship, careers, learning to learn, enrichment, life skills, motivation, and parent involvement. Each entry includes a program title, the name and address of the school where it was developed, a brief description, and a contact person's name and address. (TE)
