Trends in higher education and elementary and secondary education for 1975-1976 and 1985-1986 and projections for 1995-1996 are reported, along with population trends for six age groups. For public elementary/secondary education, data are presented for enrollment (kindergarten through grade 8 and grades 9-12); high school graduates; elementary and secondary school classroom teachers; and elementary and secondary teachers per 1,000 students. For higher education, statistics are provided on: full-time equivalent enrollments; enrollments at public and private colleges; enrollments at two-year and four-year institutions; enrollments of male and female college students; enrollments of six adult age groups; enrollments of full-time and part-time students; the number of senior instructional staff; and the number of earned degrees for all students and for males and females by level (bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and first-professional).
