Project Linkage. Career and Vocational Activities.
Dilger, Joan W., Comp.; Grimes, Francis E., Comp.
This manual is intended to enable teachers to infuse career/vocational objectives in specific content areas and reinforce or make more practical many of the basic skills and knowledge they teach. It uses the K-14 Matrix Career/Vocational Development Profile goals and objectives and interfaces these objectives with specific subject areas, which, in turn, are correlated with other objectives from various segments of the Middletown Township Public Schools, Middletown, New Jersey, curriculum. The manual is divided into 10 sections or goal areas dealing with: self-awareness, interpersonal skills, decision making, work attitudes, communication/computation skills, career implications of subjects, socio/technical/economic/political understanding, career information, marketable skills, and leisure preferences. Each objective within a section or goal area is headed by a logo denoting the content area that it primarily addresses. Grade levels are given for specific lessons, the lesson itself is provided, related subjects are mentioned, and correlations with Middletown's curricula are noted. The material is indexed in two ways: by subject, followed by goal and objective, and by titles of lessons in alphabetical order. It is illustrated with black and white drawings. (YLB)
