This eighth annual issue is one of two companion reports that provide comprehensive information about Montgomery County (Maryland) Public Schools, for school system staff, the education board, county government, and public. This report offers general information and statistical data about schools, their staffs and students, and school administrative offices. The data ensure standard definitions, statistical procedures for uniform data, and references for educators and government agencies. The report is organized into six sections: (1) purpose and organization of the report, types of data reported, and definitions of terms and data elements; (2) selected data about the county and school system, including school openings and closings, planning projections for population, income, and housing, and distributions of selected data elements reported in school profiles; (3) six summaries of school profiles, including all schools and centers in the system, regular schools, school levels, and alternative centers; (4) cluster maps, individual school profiles, and alternative center profiles; (5) a list of county school system administrative offices and departments; and (6) a list of specialized statistical reports about county public schools. The table of contents lists schools alphabetically by high school cluster and by page references. (CJH)
