Postgraduation Activities: All Degree Levels in Pennsylvania, 1984.
Brehman, George E., Jr.
Results of a survey of 1984 Pennsylvania college graduates are presented. A total of 47,055 graduates of 145 institutions were surveyed, including the associate, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and first-professional levels. Information is provided on proportions of graduates in each degree field and level that are: employed full-time in their field of preparation or in another field, employed part-time, serving in the military, employed in Pennsylvania or in another state, unemployed, or pursuing an advanced degree. Detailed analysis of outcomes for selected degree fields are provided. Differences in graduates' activities are identified for the following types of schools: state colleges and universities, state-related, state-aided, private colleges, community colleges, proprietary schools, and state technology schools. Degree field trends for 1977 to 1984 for each degree level, except the associate degree, are also covered. Definitions are included for the 50 two-digit level categories of the Classification of Instructional Programs code that have been used. (SW)
