A guide for the organization, planning, and administration of an elementary school extracurricular foreign language program emphasizing conversation and cultural exposure includes three sections: (1) information about the Ames Foreign Language Association's organization, services, and philosophy concerning program design and discipline policy; (2) materials for and about the job of tutor coordinator, including information on hiring and evaluating tutors; and (3) materials for the school committee administering the foreign language program. This last section includes an outline of the year's tasks, a timeline, start-up information, a variety of record, administrative, and letter forms, contents of a tutor packet, a list of program ideas, a tutor and coordinator checklist, and a teacher survey form for gathering information on preferred instructional activities.
