This guide is intended for use in a prevocational class for special needs students. Included in the guide are the following components: an introduction that discusses the content of the curriculum and its use as a main textbook, supplementary material, or element in an individualized education program (IEP); a 12-unit curriculum; answer keys for the instructional units; unit tests; test answers; and a 200-item question assessment and answer key. Addressed in the individual units of the curriculum are the following topics: sources of employment, resumes, initial contact with employers, job applications, employment tests, job interviews, rejection shock, things to do after being hired, job survival, job advancement, termination of employment, and equal employment opportunity. Each unit contains some or all of the following: directions for students, lesson objectives and rationales, student actions, lists of needed supplies, vocabulary words and meanings, learning activities, instructional text, and performance checks.
