Descriptive statistics are presented on students in Florida's State University System (SUS) who were previously enrolled in one of Florida's 28 community colleges. A series of tables present fall term data for 1983 through 1985, including information on students' sex, race, and age; SUS enrollment rate of community college students; credits transferred; distribution of students by the university at which they were registered and the community college from which they transferred; grade point average (GPA); and student majors. Highlighted findings included the following: (1) in fall 1985, there were 45,919 former community college students enrolled in the SUS, representing 43.1% of all SUS undergraduates; (2) distribution of students by race and sex remained fairly constant from 1982 to 1984; (3) females outnumbered males in 1983, 1984, and 1985; (4) the percentage of white students increased between 1983 and 1985; (5) 32.6% of the transfer students were in their first year of study in 1985; (6) in 1985, 77.1% of the students were in their first, second, or third year in the SUS, (7) the majority (78.7%) of students in 1985 transferred 60 semester hours or more upon entering the SUS, representing a slight decrease from 1984 and 1983; (7) transfers tended to enroll in the university nearest their community college; and (8) most transfers earned a GPA of 2.00 or higher while enrolled in the SUS.
