Medication Administration Program for Unlicensed Personnel. A State Approved Program.
Minnesota Curriculum Services Center, White Bear Lake.
This text and course are intended to assist the trained medication aide in administering medications properly, safely, and effectively. There are six comprehensive units for instruction and reference: (1) legal requirements; (2) general drug information; (3) medical abbreviations and symbols and the medication order; (4) use of medication references; (5) body and drug systems; and (6) the administration of medications. Each unit is preceded by a key words section defining words, abbreviations, or phrases used in that unit. An introduction then provides the rationale for the unit. Essential information is found in the body of each unit. Finally, practice worksheets are available to assist the learner in using knowledge and skills in an exam-like situation. (JD)
