Vocational Evaluation of Handicapped College Students: Hearing, Motor and Visually Impaired. A Testing Manual.
Schmelter-Davis, Lynne
This manual was developed to provide as complete a list as possible of vocational evaluation measures currently used by college professionals that can be appropriately used with hearing-, sight-, or motor-impaired college students, as well as with normal students. Specific modifications and/or adaptations are described. The major criterion used in the selection of the measures was their appropriateness for use in a college setting. Ease of administration, economy, and known availability were all factors in selection. The manual is organized in four parts. The first part provides a rationale for the manual and describes its uses. The second part of the manual discusses adaptation techniques for the sight impaired, the hearing impaired, and the motor impaired, while the third and longest part describes assessment measures. This part is divided into three main sections: ability and aptitude tests, personality tests, and interest tests. Within each group, measures are listed alphabetically by title. General information, counselor information, and norms are given as well as guidelines for test adaptations as appropriate for different handicaps. Test publisher, address, and price are also included. The final part of the manual is a list of suggested readings. (KC)
