Live Wire, v1 n4,5 Feb, Apr 1985 v2 n1 Aug 1985
The teaching activities presented in these articles integrate language skills in a variety of ways. The articles describe assignments about (1) using road signs to help students realize the importance of reading the signs they encounter; (2) integrating reading, speech, writing, and art, with pet dragons as the subject; (3) focusing on reading and writing directions; (4) constructing "people sentences" for increasing the understanding of sentence structure; and (5) suggesting that students write about what's on their minds to help them focus on real experiences and develop confidence in their writing.
