Information is presented on internships in the Washington, D.C., area that enable students to explore the effects of technology and science on society. Science and engineering student interns work in nonlaboratory environments, and nontechnical students may work in issue areas and newly emerging public policy challenges. The directory includes opportunities in a wide range of issue areas as well as a broad sampling of organizations. While many of the placements are with nonprofit organizations, some positions are with business, government, and research groups.
