Graduate Placement Report, 1984: New Hampshire Vocational-Technical Colleges and New Hampshire Technical Institute.
New Hampshire State Dept. of Education, Concord. Div. of Post-Secondary Education.
The New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) and the six New Hampshire Vocational-Technical Colleges (NHVTC) offer collegiate education preparing individuals for direct employment in business, industry, health, and service-related fields. At the completion of the 1983-84 academic year, 1,130 students had graduated from 46 different programs offered by the college/institute system. As of November 1, 1984, 96% of those graduates had been satisfactorily placed; i.e., 82% were gainfully employed and 9% were continuing their education. Of the employed graduates, 96% were working in a job directly or closely related to their college program. Many positions were obtained as a result of the lifetime placement service provided at each institution. Graduates continued to show a preference for attending college, working, and living in New Hampshire, with 78% of the employed graduates working in the state. The average job entry salaries for the 1984 graduates increased significantly over the previous year's average, so that it was estimated that all employed graduates would have a total gross dollar earning power of approximately $17,970,000 during their first year of employment. The bulk of the report consists of tables providing placement data separately for NHTI and NHVTC graduates. A section on the degree programs and adult education and apprenticeship courses offered through the system's extension services, and a list of employers who interviewed NHTI/NHVTC graduates are also included.
