The working group attempted to provide a detailed progression in the developmental stages leading to the child's appreciation of the full meaning of the "fiveness of five." Activities are included on relationships and early matching, sorting, matching experience leading to an appreciation of one-to-one correspondence, comparing and ordering, and names and numbers. (MNS)
