Vocational Education and Training in Denmark (Professions/Trades). Education in Denmark.
Ministry of Education, Copenhagen (Denmark).
This information booklet on vocational education in Denmark begins with a listing of the eight fields of study into which vocational education is divided. These fields are (1) the construction industry; (2) the graphic industries; (3) commerce, clerical trades, and public administration; (4) the iron and metal industries; (5) agriculture, horticulture, and forestry; (6) transports; (7) the food industries; and (8) the service tredes. A discussion follows of the two ways in which the education and training in these fields can be received: apprenticeship (L) training and basic vocational education (EFG). Both L and EFG training within the eight fields of study are then described, including: subjects taken during the basic year (first part) in EFG, a diagram illustrating the structure of the EFG basic year, and a list of second part courses that denotes whether or not the course is offered by the basic vocational training, apprenticeship training, or both.
