Junior College Directory, 1970. Period Covering September 1968-August 1969 and Fall Enrollments for l969.
Harper, William A., Ed.
Based on a survey conducted by the American Association of Junior Colleges (AAJC), this directory provides information on 1,038 community, junior, and technical colleges and two-year branch campuses in the United States and its territories, including data on 1968-69 enrollments, personnel, and student costs. Following material on the scope and compilation of the directory, a data analysis and projections of two-year college growth are presented. Next, the directory lists the colleges alphabetically by state, including the following information for each: location; chief administrative head; year organized as a junior college; type of control or affiliation; AAJC membership; state recognition or accrediting agency; programs (i.e., transfer and/or occupational); co-educational or single-sex status; October 1968 enrollment of full- and part-time freshman, sophomore, and unclassified students; October 1968, summer 1969, and October 1969 total enrollments; full- and part-time faculty and administrators in 1968-69; and cost per academic year for in-district, out-of-district, and out-of-state students. Statewide enrollment summaries are then provided for all institutions and public and independent schools, followed by tables showing distribution by size of enrollment, independent and church-related schools by type of control, and accredited schools by state. Changes in institutions since the previous year, information on AAJC, junior college organizations, and state administrators of two-year college education are covered in the final sections. (AYC)
