Data on federal funding to two-year colleges are provided in this report for fiscal year (FY) 1982. After introductory material on the development and uses of the report, tables provide financial data for the federal categorical aid programs of the following units: (1) University Year for Action; (2) Department of Education--Educational Research and Improvement, International Education, Postsecondary Education, and Vocational and Adult Education; (3) Department of Energy--Educational Program Division; (4) Department of Health and Human Services; (5) Department of Labor; (6) National Endowment for the Arts; (7) National Endowment for the Humanities; (8) National Institute of Mental Health; and (9) National Science Foundation. For each federal funding program, the report provides FY 1982 figures contrasted with FY 1981 figures for dollars authorized, dollars appropriated, dollars obtained by two-year colleges, total number of awards, total number of proposals submitted, number of awards to two-year colleges, and number of proposals submitted by two-year colleges. Finally, a summary of FY 1982 funding and a prospectus for FY 1983 are presented for each program, revealing that a lesser amount of money and a reduced number of programs were available to two-year colleges for FY 1982 and that funding reductions will continue in 1983 as some programs are phased out and others are absorbed into block grants.
