This student instructional manual is intended for individualized study for students preparing for careers in the home entertainment sales field and for sales training of clerks in home entertainment stores. Competency based and validated by seven people from the home entertainment sales/management field, the manual contains a list of competencies needed by home entertainment sales persons along with skills needed to fulfill each competency. This section is followed by 12 assignments containing learning objectives, vocabulary, information needed to fulfill the competencies, questions on the material, and projects for students to do. Assignments cover the following material: sound theory, principles of radio and television; audio components and systems; video components and systems; tapes, discs, and accessories; selling home entertainment equipment; and future developments in home entertainment equipment.
