(2) What levels of competence should a teacher candidate demonstrate to remain in a teacher education program? (3) What are the legal implications of screening and selection procedures? (4) What criteria should be used when denying certification at the end of student teaching? (5) What are the consequences of tougher standards in teacher education programs? (6) How do grades in teacher education compare with those in other areas of academic work? and (7) What are the legal implications of "saying it like it is" when writing narratives or recommendations for future teachers?
