This annotated bibliography presents citations to approximately 225 monographs, journal articles, and unpublished documents dealing with in-service education programs for two-year college faculty. These items represent a selection of the in-service education and staff development literature cataloged over the last 25 years in "Education Index,""Current Index to Journals in Education,""Resources in Education," and "Dissertation Abstracts." The entries, which are arranged alphabetically by author, provide the author's name; title; journal title (where applicable); ERIC document number (where applicable); order number (in the case of a dissertation); and a brief annotation summarizing the work's content. The bibliography's introduction details selection criteria and summarizes major changes in the staff development literature since the publication of a bibliography on the same topic in 1975. These changes include an increase in the number of works dealing with the staff development needs of specific constituencies, such as trustees and adjunct faculty; models for regional, state, and campus training programs; staff development efforts at rural colleges; and cooperative staff development efforts with universities.
