Incentives as an Aid for Improving the Quality of the Family Housing Environment: A Position Paper.
Coyle, Tom
This study is the twentieth in a series of twenty reports completed by the Children's Environments Advisory Service for the International Year of the Child, 1979. The objective of the investigation was to examine the use of incentives to encourage desired housing quality improvements in new housing being built. Findings, conclusions and recommendations related to alternative forms of incentives and further action to be taken to implement a program of incentives are presented. Outcomes of the study are based on a series of consultations with representatives of various sectors of the housing industry as well as with staff of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation at its branch, regional and national offices. A list of representatives consulted regarding incentives for housing quality is appended. (Author/RH)
