Science Monographs, published by the National Institute of Mental Health, are book-length, integrative state-of-the-art reviews, critical evaluations of findings, or program assessments of current research on topics related to the NIMH mandate. This set of articles concentrate on the family in changing times. Articles focus on the impact of the Great Depression on Americans, the Mexican-American family, adjustments to separation and divorce, middle-income families in which both husbands and wives are employed outside the home and responsible for the care of children, step-fathers as parents, attitudes of women and men respectively toward their work and families, and the experiences of American Indians who move to the city.
