The focus of this document is on the design of educational facilities, especially workshops, in Singapore. Chapter 1 discusses secondary schools, including the general curriculum and specifications-of-space provision in a standard secondary school. In chapter 2 the position of technical education within general secondary schools is addressed. Chapter 3 focuses on general design considerations of workshops, such as location, size, placement of machinery and equipment, ventilation, and lighting. Detailed design considerations for metal work, woodwork, wood machine, electricity and electronics, and technical drawing shops are discussed in chapter 4. General workshop rules are appended. (YLB)
