Evaluative annotations of recent additions to the National Library of Canada's selection of notable Canadian children's literature are presented in two separate supplements, one English, the other French, with translations of the principal text in each version to the language of the other. The English supplement adds seven titles for 1976 and 13 for 1977; while the French supplement adds 15 titles for 1976 and seven for 1977. The annotations provide an evaluative review of each book's contents and describe awards won by the work. Content of the books includes history, poetry, adventure, pictorial essay, nature study, sports, legend, and short stories. The index provides access to the names of all individuals associated with the creation of each work, to the titles, to awards, and to the principal subjects and themes identified in the titles and annotations.
