Various education outreach programs of urban colleges and universities are examined. In one article, Mary McKinnick looks at cooperative models for urban outreach. Suggested are ways in which colleges and universities can respond more effectively to the needs of prospective students--especially those who have not been well served by the educational system. Other articles focus on special outreach efforts by institutions in the Urban College and University Network. Considered to be successful or promsing by their sponsors, these programs could be adapted for use by other institutions. The programs highlighted are at California State University at Fresno, California State University at Dominguez Hills, North Shore Community College in Massachusetts, Lewis and Clark Community College in Missouri, and the University of New Orleans.
