North Dakota Senior High Industrial Arts Program of Studies--Level II. Research Series No. 80.
North Dakota State Board for Vocational Education, Bismarck. Research Coordinating Unit.
This industrial arts program of a studies guide is the product of a research project designed to (1) ascertain programs and curricula trends of senior high school industrial arts in the fifty states, (2) develop a philosophical rationale for senior high schools in North Dakota secondary schools, and (3) develop a master plan and program of study for senior high school course offerings for North Dakota. The guide is divided into six major sections: basic beliefs about industrial arts, the industrial arts mission, industrial arts objectives, the total industrial arts curriculum, program standards, and the identification of courses and course code numbering systems. The curriculum and program of studies is centered around three technical areas: graphic communications technology, production technology, and energy/power technology. For each course title listed under these areas, a course description, selected student competencies, and suggested instructional units are given. (LRA)
