The economic and cultural impact of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego on the local economy is reviewed. The following areas are covered: the community in historical perspective (1861-1970); the college in historical perspective (1861-1970); changes in the size, nature, and structure of the community, 1950-70; and growth of the college as a unit of SUNY and the economic and cultural impact on years; capital construction expenditures within time intervals; operating budget for selected years; student expenditures for selected years; expenditures for FSA, salaries, supplies, and expenses; funds received from the research foundation of SUNY for selected years; student financial aid information; population of the city of Oswego for selected years; employment in Oswego County for selected years compared to college employment; and changes in degrees granted, 1968-70.
