This Child Development Associate (CDA) training module, the third in a series of 16, provides a course in preschool curriculum planning for bilingual/bicultural preschool teacher trainees. Lesson materials discuss conditions for learning, benefits of good planning, goals of early education and ways of translating goals into learning experiences (including assessing development, writing behavioral objectives, planning activities and evaluating the child's performance). Sixteen assignments leading to planning a 5-day unit of instruction are included in the module. Social, gross and fine motor, language, perceptual, cognitive and self-help skills checklist as well as a lesson plan form, a model lesson plan and a lesson plan checklist also are included. This module focuses on specific teacher behaviors that directly relate to CDA Competencies 2, 3 and 4. (RH)
