Striving for Excellence in Preservice and Inservice Training of Counselors.
Hart, Gordon M.
This monograph examines the content and quality of counselor education programs and activities in both preservice and inservice training. It describes selected preservice programs and discussed the components that make them effective. It then presents various theoretical training models, with recommendations for innovative techniques that counselor educators might wish to include in their own programs. Inservice training approaches are similarly investigated, including specific discussion of the use of on-staff personnel, outside consultants, and outside experiences. A final section offers suggestions to service deliverers for ways to coordinate their professional efforts so as to improve the quality of their services. (Author)
