Aspects of the Help-A-Kid (HAK) program considered in this series of six workbook guides include: (1) the program's organization, its objectives, its strategies for getting students to participate, and the roles of parents and the community in the program's implementation; (2) in-service training for junior staff; (3) values clarification raps which attempt to help teens know themselves; (4) human survival training that attempts to help teenagers acquire skills for bachelor and family living; (5) individual and group activities that develop encouraging relationships with younger children; and (6) in-service training for professional staff. Estimates of costs, time and staff requirements, and a discussion of key concepts and objectives are provided for specific programs referred to. Appendices for each workbook include samples of pertinent application forms and evaluation checklists. (EB)
