Self-Study and Evaluation Guide/1977 Edition. Section D-8: Rehabilitation Teaching Services.
National Accreditation Council for Agencies Serving the Blind and Visually Handicapped, New York, NY.
This self-study and evaluation guide on rehabilitation teaching services is one of 28 guides designed for organizations who are undertaking a self-study as part of the process for accreditation from the National Accreditation Council (NAC) for agencies serving the blind and visually handicapped. Provided are lists of standards to be appraised by the self-evaluation teams or the extent to which the organization meets the standards (excellent, satisfactory, adequate, poor, minimal, and not applicable). Areas of standards considered are planning for rehabilitation teaching services, rehabilitation teaching personnel, services, and evaluation. Throughout the guide, space is provided for written comments to be made such as an explanation of a rating or why a standard did not apply. The concluding part of the guide contains six questions which permit the agency to describe its plan for continuing evaluation and improvement of rehabilitation teaching services. (Other accreditation guides are available--see note.) (JH)
