This curriculum guide is designed to encourage responsible university course development as well as extracurricular activities centered around the world food/hunger problem. Multidisciplinary and global values clarification approaches are basic to the curriculum. Part I of the guide discusses the role of universities in combatting world hunger and describes a successful experimental seminar at Yale University. Part II provides outlines of 23 existing college courses which fall into the following categories: ethical strategies, international agricultural development, nutrition, overviews, policy formation, and political economy. These courses are currently given at schools including the University of Minnesota, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Cornell University. For each course information is given on content, objectives, schedule, lecture topics, and readings. Parts III and IV of the guide provide a bibliography of books, periodicals, resource packets, multimedia materials, and government and private agencies with interests in the world food problem. (KC)
