The lessons, games and exercises in the workbook are follow-up work for the units in the reader of the same title. There are many vocabulary, punctuation, and grammar exercises, and spelling games and drills. Additionally, there is an incomplete story for the child to finish by using appropriate words to complete each sentence. These exercises are designed to teach comprehension, interpretation, vocabulary, pronunciation, and study skills as part of a four-level series of supplementary materials for teaching reading in Spanish at the second grade level.
