Twelve learning activities are presented for children in kindergarten through grade three to help develop skills of valuing, decision making, interpersonal relationships, and spatial awareness. Knowledge and skills in these areas will enable children to understand and effectively communicate with people of different cultures and lifestyles, and to participate more fully in their world. Kindergarten activities include identifying the uniqueness in thumbprints, cooperation experiences, and drawing a "me" map. Grade one activities examine personal needs and wants, characteristics of groups, and how to develop a classroom map. Activities for grade two focus on classroom rules, community problems, and location of other countries. Grade three activities study the world food supply and rules in the community. A buried treasure game employs skills of direction and location. Concepts, objectives, materials, procedures, and methods of evaluation are outlined for each activity. (KC)
