Responding to the needs of the Puerto Rico veterinary medicine community, the College of Health Related Professions of the University of Puerto Rico prepared a competency-based veterinary technology program leading to a bachelor's degree in science with a major in veterinary technology. The program is described in detail, treating such matters as the profile of the graduate, objectives, admission requirements, retention plans, degree requirements, recruitment and orientation, placement and guidance, faculty, curriculum, competencies, course descriptions, program evaluation, and resources and facilities. The budget and recommendations are included, as is a brief bibliography. (MSE)
