Results of Attitude Survey of New Students for Fall, 1977.
Tweddale, R. Bruce
It is hypothesized that students who have a high regard for higher education and whose family and peer group echo this sentiment will be less likely to drop out than those with less regard. To test this hypothesis, 147 students entering Grand Valley State Colleges for fall 1977 were surveyed. The survey instrument consisted of 28 statements to which the student was asked to respond using a five-point scale ranging from "I strongly agree" to "I strongly disagree." The statements in the survey and the distribution of the 147 responses are shown. (SPG)
