Summaries of 89 studies on rural health care (underway or recently completed) in the United States as of December 1976 are reported. Information on each study includes: title; principal researchers' names, addresses, and professions; major objectives of the research; methodology; findings (on completed research); financing organization; current status of research; and availability of findings. Studies are reported under six major headings: alternative models of health care delivery, utilization of health care, distribution of health care resources and education of health personnel, health care planning and policy, and health status, self-care, and health education. An alphabetized list of the 47 researchers reporting on their work is included, along with samples of the form, completed prototype, and cover letter each researcher received. (RS)
