Community College Report, 1976-1978: Tables Summarizing Salaries, Fringe Benefits and Related Practices Affecting Professional Employees of New York State Community Colleges.
New York State Public Employment Relations Board, Albany.
Comparative information on faculty salaries, fringe benefits, and related practices, reported in tabular form, comprises this report which covers all New York state community colleges including those where employees have not organized into formal negotiating units. Most items presented deal with contractual provisions, although some represent common practices at an institution that are not part of a contract; differentiation of the two source types is not attempted. Tables generally refer to the 1976-77 school year; however, when new contracts were not then in effect, the most recent available contract data were used. Future wage information from multi-year contracts is included when available. Tables cover employee unit definitions; management positions specifically excluded from negotiating units; general contract provisions; full-time faculty salary ranges; salary increments and increases; community college and state university average salaries; teaching loads and office hours; class size and preparations; department chairman provisions; evening, overload, and summer session provisions; promotion and tenure policies; health insurance and short-term leave provisions; employment provisions for non-teaching professional staff; grievance and arbitration procedures; union privileges; and official credit course enrollments for fall 1976. Retirement plan information is included. (TR)
