Bettramo, Anthony F., Ed.
MALT Bulletin, v23 n1 p11-23 Win 1978
A survey on articulation was carried out among foreign language teachers in high schools and colleges in Montana. The information is from the academic year 1976-77. The results are divided into two sections: the high school survey and the college and university survey. The high school survey gives information on the estimated percentage of students studying a foreign language, the languages offered and the number of years for each, the number of schools which offer an advanced placement program in foreign languages and to what extent students avail themselves of this program, the estimated percentage of students who go to college, the total number of foreign language classes taught by individual teachers, total number of students in each class, the textbooks used and the units covered in each, and extracurricular activities. The results of the college survey include the names of the institutions, the languages offered in each, methods of placement, language lab attendance requirements, textbooks used, and extracurricular activities in which students participate.
