This document is one in a series distributed by the Agricultural Extension Service of the University of Wyoming-Laramie. It provides an introduction to pesticides and is concerned with pesticide development, labeling and safety associated with the use, storage and disposal of these substances and their containers. Safety aspects of handling and using pesticides are stressed. Information is presented on selecting, mixing and applying various formulas. Additionally, pesticide effects and symptoms are discussed with guidelines for treatment of and antidotes for pesticide poisoning. A glossary of terms is included for reference. (CS)
