This packet includes an administrator's manual, and manuals for each of five 45-minute sessions of an inservice teachers' workshop on the use of television in the classroom. The session manuals, designed to be used in conjunction with video cassettes, contain suggestions for activities, summaries of the sessions, and lists of relevant readings. The administrator's manual discusses overall administration of the sessions, describes the content of each session, and includes workshop evaluation forms. The topics of the workshop sessions are: "Towards Visual Learning"--an exploration of the rationale behind visual learning; "The Many Faces of Television"--interviews with professionals from various areas of television; "Television in the Classroom"--guidelines for using television in the classroom; "The Mechanics of Television"--an explanation of how to operate a color television set and a video cassette player; and "Program Acquisition"--an introduction to the local representative, who will explain the program acquisition procedure.
