Pioneer Cooperative Educational Service Agency's Experience-Based Career Education Program. Interim Report.
Pioneer Cooperative Educational Service Agency, Cleveland, GA.
The Pioneer Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) first-year (1976-77) activities were reviewed. The project was intended to implement the Far West Laboratory (FWL) version of experience based career education (EBCE) in three Hall County, Georgia, high schools, and to prepare for second-year (school year) implementation of the program in the Gainesville City and Union County high schools. Results and accomplishments were noted in the four major tasks (project implementation, inservice training, product development and dissemination, and evaluation) identified as essential to achieving program goals. One of the most significant outcomes of the project's first year operations was the establishment of a total program management system that allowed the Pioneer CESA EBCE management team to supervise, coordinate, and recommend . program adjustments without usurping the authority of the local school administrators. Also student growth was documented in the areas of career development, basic skill development, life skills, and general attitudes toward learning, school, self, and adults. Positive responses were also received from parents and the community. (Appended project materials comprise the major part of this document and include the 225-page third-party evaluation report.)
