Reported are the results of a survey of 222 United Methodist campus ministers across the country in both private and public colleges and universities. The report covers the personal backgrounds and careers of the ministers, their views of campus ministry goals and programs, how the campus ministries are financed and administered, and the quality of service provided the ministries by the denomination and other support institutions. In addition, a statement on the mission of United Methodist campus ministry that is to be recommended as a policy statement is reprinted. It lists the concerns of campus ministry, points to its challenges, and concludes that campus ministry is required by the understanding of ministry in the church, and calls on the church at large to strengthen its support.
