Guidance and Counseling for the Elderly. Hearing Before the Select Committee on Aging: House of Representatives, Ninety-fifth Congress, First Session.
The record of this hearing of the House Select Committee on Aging contains the text of House Resolution 1118, which is to provide expanded counseling assistance for the elderly sick and disabled. In addition to the Resolution, testimony from a number of experts on counseling and gerontology is presented. The purpose of the bill is to provide systematic, organized community programs to help older people counteract the problems of loneliness, health deficits, and social rejection. With proper counseling, many of them can lead independent, meaningful lives. (Author/BP)
