Pre-Postsecondary Program. A Social Science Careers Curriculum.
Stavney, Gerry
This curriculum guide, developed during a pilot project at three sites in Ohio during the 1973-75 period, is designed for the teacher implementing a pre-postsecondary program in social science careers for eleventh and twelfth grade students. The guide contains an introduction, a section on program philosophy and assumptions, elements of a pre-postsecondary program (including block-time scheduling, simulated activities, field experiences, career guidance, and individualization), plus content outlines and class activities. Activities (intended to take two years) are outlined across the areas of psychology, sociology, mathematics, and career and personal development in a core format designed to enable the student to see the applicability of the topics and concepts and to see the holistic nature of knowledge. The content outline correlates an activity number with a specific topic in one of the major activity areas. (TA)
